My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico and it was amazing! It was my first time visiting Mexico, and we stayed at Secrets Akumal which is a beautiful & luxurious all inclusive resort. We spent most of our days either at the beach or lounging next to one of the three infinity pools. Despite owning a global beauty business, I prefer to be as bare-faced as possible at the beach. I saw lots of ladies rocking their bold lips, but for me I prefer the natural look of a tinted lip balm that nourishes the lips while giving a hint of color. It's also the perfect time to relax with shades on and catch up on your favorite podcasts. And don't forget to reapply that SPF! I thought I would share the items I kept at my side the whole trip! 1. Tarte Iridescent Makeup bag to keep everything protected. This is also where I kept my phone and cash for tips. 2. Neutrogena Age Shield SPF 70 face lotion // shopstyle.it/l/khnb 3. Kate Spade New York Crystal Stone Earbuds // amzn.to/2xBKlf9 4. Younique Lip BonBon Tinted Lip Balm in Red Velvet Cake // bit.ly/2yk7UNp 5. Kate Spade New York Cissy Sunglasses // shopstyle.it/l/khpL Being back home is a little bittersweet, but I'm excited to spend my favorite month ever as a Mrs. What do you always bring with you to the beach? xo Sarah

I've been drawn to graphic tees for as long as I can remember having my own money to shop with. They're comfortable, easy, and allow you to express yourself without having to say a word. My go-to travel outfit is an extra loose graphic tee, black leggings, and comfortable shoes that are easy to slip on and off (becauseee...airport security).
One of my favorite outfits to wear for a night out with friends is a graphic tee with ripped jeans, kitten heels, and statement jewelry. You'll be comfortable and trendy. Throw on a blazer to up your urban chic ante.
Have I mentioned how comfortable they are? Seriously, ya'll. I'm on the other side of 30. I can't be bothered to wear anything that makes me feel bound up or constricted. Here are a few of my faves from my collection & a few on my wishlist:
Go on now, I dare you to treat yo'self this weekend. Welcome to the comfy side of life.
xo Sarah If you have been following me for a while, then you already know that I love Splurge Cream Shadows. Here are some of the reasons why:
A new shade launched this summer that quickly became my favorite. Unapologetic is a gorgeous matte burnt orange shade that can be used to create a sunset smokey eye or fall PSL look. You can also use an angled brush to create a bold winged liner. Here is how I like to wear it. Applied all over the lid and lower lash line and blend out for an effortless, gorgeous eye look. I love pairing Splash Liquid Lipstick in Sublime with it, but you could also pair it with a deeper lip for a more vampy vibe. My preferred application method is with this Cream Shadow Brush. For some of the lighter shades that I use as a base, I just use my finger. Totally up to you! What do you think? Would you wear a bold shade like this to stay on trend this fall? Enjoy this free desktop wallpaper.
xo Sarah If you are breaking out, there's a good chance you are skipping this one very important step: washing your brushes on the reg. I know. I know. All you need is one more thing on your to do list, but I am going to share a few tips with you to make this as easy & painless as possible. Tip #1: Separate your dirty brushes from your pristinely clean ones. This doesn't have to cost you any money. Keep it simple, ya'll. I present to you a used candle jar & one of the countless vases I had cluttering my cabinets. The tall one holds all my clean babies and when I don't leave my brushes strewn about my vanity, I put them in the squattier candle jar. Then you know exactly what needs to be washed and you're not wasting your time washing the clean ones that are just dirty by association. Tip #2: Use a daily brush cleaning spray in-between full washes. Here are two options I keep on my vanity: e.l.f. Daily Brush Cleaner $3: shopstyle.it/l/hyIX coco lavish Brush Cleaner (this shop is temporarily closed due to Hurricane Irma) This is the perfect way to clean your eyeshadow and powder brushes in between uses. I like to keep a small white towel on my vanity to use with these sprays and then just switch it out once a week. Tip #3: Wash your face brushes separately from your eye brushes. The cream products we apply to our face: foundation, concealer, etc can breed bacteria growth. These tools should be at the top of your brush washing to do list when you are short on time. They also take the most effort to wash because the product really adheres to the bristles and makes it's way down into the full length of the brush head. Here's the part you are not going to like--it is best to wash these brushes WEEKLY. At the minimum. Ouch. Your skin however, will thank me. Eyeshadow brushes take much less time and effort to get clean because the powder sort of just sits on top of the bristles versus clinging on for dear life. I dread looking at my jar of 1200 brushes and knowing they all need to be clean, so it really helps me to categorize them. Tip #4: Treat yo'self to a brush cleaning tool. I use the Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Mat shown above. From their website: "The PATENTED Sigma Spa® Express Brush Cleaning Mat is an innovative device featuring 7 patented textures to wash both eye and face brushes. The mat includes suction cups on the backside for secure placement on flat surfaces. Uniquely designed to fit most sinks at 32% smaller than the original Sigma Spa® Brush Cleaning Mat. Small, convenient size. Ideal for modest brush collections. Secure suction cups. Time-saving results." Once upon a time I would use the palm of my hand and dread the task even further. I asked for this for Christmas last year, and have dreaded brush washing less ever since. I highly, highly recommend you check out a brush cleaning mat. Here is where I got mine: http://shopstyle.it/l/hyKW I also spotted this one while out shopping. It was $5.99 at Macy's Backstage, although if you don't have one of those in your area, check out Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshall's. This particular mat looked a little flimsier than my Sigma, but if you are on a budget this may be a good option for you. Tip #5: Use proper soap. Dr. Bronner's Rose Pure-Castile Liquid Soap: http://shopstyle.it/l/hySe This is concentrated, biodegradable, versatile and effective. Made with organic and certified fair trade ingredients and packaged in a 100% post-consumer recycled bottle. This option is best if you are concerned with the efficacy of your products, but may not be able to tackle some of your more stubborn brushes. Dawn dish soap is gentle enough to clean wildlife, but also tough enough to remove grease so this may be what you want to reach for during those short on time brush washing sessions. Zote soap is dirt cheap. Like 99 cents and crazy effective. HOWEVER--this can be a little drying on your natural hair brushes and it can sometimes be difficult to wash out. So, if you have more time than you do money, this may be one for you to try. The How To: 1. Use lukewarm water. Any hotter and it could potentially loosen the glue that holds it all together and ruin your brush! 2. Apply soap of choice and swirl brush onto cleaning mat or your palm. Repeat until clean. 3. Rinse well. 4. Shape the brush so that it doesn't dry all sprawled out everywhere. 5. Let the brush air dry with the end of the brush tilted higher than the bristles so that no water seeps back into the ferrule (the metal part of the brush that clamps the bristles on). 6. Enjoy! How often do you wash your brushes? This is a judgement-free zone.

A metallic finish is all the rage right now, and this limited edition bundle delivers. In my opinion, there is nothing better than finding the perfect nude lip, and you are sure to find one that fits your skin tone! I personally went with Superior & can't wait to order the other shades as well!
Everyone can benefit from a little color to their cheeks, especially as our summer tans fade and we go into the cooler months. Choose between a sheer rose or peach that packs multi-dimensional color.
And of course, you can NEVER go wrong with a winged liner sharp enough to kill a man. The ultra fine tip & 18 hour wear will make your perfect eye look a breeze. Water-proof, sweat-proof and Black Friday-proof (it's coming, ya'll). The maroon & electric blue shades are limited edition this month only. The deep black & shimmer bronze shades will become core colors in our Dip & Draw collection!
I am SUPER stoked about these new fall products & even more excited that I can share a $13 savings with you when you purchase as a bundle through this link: The Shining Elements Bundle
xo Sarah Who struggles to keep their makeup in place, especially in summer? We're all raising our hands with you, it's okay. I have tried different combinations of products over the years and put the following to the ultimate test at a beach wedding this past weekend. I did a super quick makeup application for the rehearsal, just using my usual cream concealer and pressed powder and tried a spritz of the Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray-Bridal. They formulated the infamous Urban Decay setting sprays after all, so I thought that would do the trick. Cue temps in the upward 90s and sweat dripping down my face, taking my makeup with it. For full disclosure, I should add that I skipped primer that morning. What can I say, I stayed up late the night before and was looking for a shortcut. Repeat after me: It's a crime not to prime. I use this one. Also cue the anxiety that I had opted out of having my makeup professionally done. I had visions of looking like a melting wax figure next to the other bridesmaids who were airbrushed to perfection. Fast forward to the big day, and I made sure to use the 3 products that go unseen but make a BIG difference! I applied primer, makeup as usual, and then this Behold Translucent Setting Powder all over. This particular product is extremely finely milled so that it helps blur imperfections without settling into fine lines and pores. This is a colorless product that provides a matte finish. And if you have dry or aging skin like I do, then you know not all setting powders are created equal! This Behold powder has a mesh screen and a plastic stopper so that the product doesn't spill all over your makeup bag. Another plus! I prefer to use this brush because it has micro-crystal fibers that are designed for strong powder pickup and release. And it has 2 ends! Sometimes I use the smaller concealer end to blend my cream concealer, and other times I use it to carefully set my eye area. Finish off your look with a generous spritz of setting spray and you should be good to go! Setting spray is like hairspray for your face. Both the Behold Setting Spray & Skindinavia one are somewhat of a satin finish in my opinion, but they do make mattifying formulas. I added a light dusting of setting powder over my nose after spritzing my face and made it through the outdoor ceremony and the whole reception without any issues. Psst, this Behold Translucent Setting Powder came off back order TODAY so if you are interested go grab it now! I already purchased a backup after realizing this is what makes or breaks my makeup application. Click here to purchase! xo Sarah I don't know about you, but when I find a look that "works", I tend to stick to it. At least until the next new product comes along! For months now, I have found myself reaching for the same two eye shadow palettes to create almost all of my eye looks. And it's because the shadows blend so EASILY! Let me introduce you to two of my makeup BFFs: Addiction Palette 1 & Addiction Palette 5. I'm not going to lie...Palette 5 scared me at first. It sat on my vanity for weeks before I had the courage to pick it up. But trust me when I say, it is the most versatile palette I have! And Palette 1 contains my holy grail crease color: Chipper. I'm pretty sure the messy interiors prove how loved these are. Ok, now onto my current fave makeup look. Who else is on Team Baby Hair Don't Care? I swear I have one trying to steal the show in every picture. I left these pictures completely uncropped & unfiltered so you can get the full effect. I used only two eye shadows to complete this look. And truth be told, if I'm really in a rush I use just the one. You ready to see how easy this is? Load up your eyeshadow brush with Suspicious from Palette 5. Tap off the excess and apply to the entire eyelid starting in the center. Open Palette 1 and swoop on in to Chipper and blend into the crease, starting at the outermost corner of the eye. Take a brush with a smaller end, I prefer this one, and apply Chipper at the lower lash line focusing on the outer corner and blending in. Then BLEND BLEND BLEND! Boom. Done. For the lips, I layered two liquid lipsticks. Mostly because I started applying the wrong one first because who doesn't get in a big rush when you're trying to get ready?! CoulourPop in Trap all over, which is a dusty greige, and then Midi (my fave) in the center. I'll list everything else I used in case you want to take a looksie (click to open the links):

Now that I'm over 30, I refuse to wear anything that isn't comfortable (at least not for any length of time). I don't have time to nurse sunburns and blisters or untangle a wad of necklaces during my vacation. Here are 3 items that I consider summer fashion staples that you probably won't find topping any other fashion blogger lists. #sorrynotsorry 1. Baseball CapI picked up this pastel colored ball cap from zumiez and there are two reasons it's my beach go-to: it shields my face from the sun (I don't need help aging at this point) & I can pull my hair back into a bun without worry of my hat blowing away in a gust of wind, or my hair flailing around and sticking to my sunscreened face. I also like that it's light-colored so that it doesn't attract any more heat than necessary. 2. Dainty NecklaceI received this Kendra Scott Elisa Rose Gold Drusy Necklace from my fiancé for my birthday and it's been my staple necklace ever since. It matches everything and it's very comfortable to wear. While statement pieces are fun, it's not always practical to pack a different piece of jewelry for every outfit. I wasted too much time in my younger years untangling necklaces and overthinking what to wear. 3. Converse Chuck TaylorsFor a lot of people, summer means sightseeing. And if you're sightseeing, you need a comfortable pair of shoes. If you're headed to the Zoo, outlet malls, aquarium, museum, etc do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of something cute & comfy. Converse Chuck Taylors happen to be my fave and this pair is from their dainty line which is slimmer and has a more "feminine" silhouette. I believe this shade is "purple dusk" but you'll have to go treasure hunting to find this exact pair because I picked mine up at TJ Maxx. Chuck Taylor Pro Tip: pick up a pair of the Converse Socks that were made to be worn with Chucks. They have an ultra-low silhouette with extra cushioning to prevent any rubbing at the heel. You'll thank me later. What are your summer fashion essentials? I'd love to know so drop a comment below! xo Sarah YOU HAD ME AT PUMPKIN SPICELike any other #basic fall-loving woman, I am obsessed with pumpkin spice. Candles, coffees, cakes--I want it all!
